The school opened on the 8th September 1992 with 142 children.  The current total of 240 pupils consists of 9 classes in years 1-6  and one reception class.

The extensive facilities within the school allow for flexibility in teaching methods and approaches as appropriate to the needs of individuals, small groups or whole classes. The teaching accommodation within the building is comprised of infant and junior areas. There are four discreet teaching areas, each of which incorporates four classrooms and shared activity areas.

The extension houses all the junior classes. All classrooms have digital projectors and interactive technologies. An ICT suite,  serves both Key Stages. Three mobile ICT suites serve the junior classes.

The design of the school is such that it offers the children excellent facilities for learning and leisure.  The playground is designed to accommodate the pupils in active play, a quiet area adjacent to the main playground has been transformed by the pupils into a garden area.

The sports hall has its own changing rooms and shower areas.  Many of the children have the opportunity to participate in various after school activities in the sports hall and on the playing field.
