Football Tournament

Our Year 6 team played very well in yesterday’s football tournament and just missed out on the final stages.

Once again, their attitude, commitment and behaviour was exemplary. Well done !

Tennis

Our team reached the final yesterday afternoon in the Inter-Schools Mini Tennis Championships at Albany Tennis Club!

Tree Planting

Friendly Football – Year 6

A team from Year 6 took part in a friendly game against Fairfield after school on Wednesday. Their attitude, sportsmanship and quality of play saw them win 6-4. Very well done!

Swimming Championships

A very big well done to the swimming teams who took part in the Swimming Championship last weekend. The girls won silver in the relay medley, and bronze in freestyle. The boys came 4th on both days.

World Book Day 2010

On Thursday the children were invited to dress as a character from a book to mark World Book Day. The event raised £100 which will be used to buy books for Rebecca House.

Chess Competition

On Saturday 27th February, 7 children from Vallajeelt took part in the IOM Primary Schools Chess Congress. All turned out smartly, and played some interesting and very tough games. They all performed well, but it wasn’t our day. Our youngest mainteam player Lucas Mudie came a respectable joint second in the ‘Youngest Player’ tournament. Our sub Michael Bonham also played in a reserves tournament and did jolly well until near the end, coming a valient second too. I must congratualet all the team, on what was a tough event, and thank all their parents for bringing them down and supporting us.

Cross Country

A team of Year 5 & 6 Boys and Girls competed in today’s cross country event at Poulsom Park in Castletown. It was a demanding course, but all of the children completed it.
